Our DreamYears ago when I came to the Carrollton Church of the Nazarene as the pastor, I was asked what my plans were for the future in other words what was the vision I had for our church. At that time I sat down and prayed asking the Lord for His direction. After praying and seeking wisdom from those that were present I came up with this document to illustrate that vision, dream, plans for the future. This dream has been what I have used as my aim for everything that we as a church have done over the last 5 years. I want to give it to you to keep in front of you as we strive with God’s help to achieve our dream.
Our Dream
It is a dream of a place where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, the confused, can find love, acceptance, help, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement.
It is a dream of sharing the gospel of Jesus and the good news of salvation with the thousands of residents of Carrollton and the surrounding cities. Giving individuals the goal of sanctification and living a holy life.
It is the dream of welcoming 1,000 members into the fellowship of God’s family where they will be laughing, learning, and living in harmony with each other.
It is the dream of bringing people to a passionate faith in Jesus through Worship, Bible studies, seminars, retreats, small groups and missionary endeavors.
It is a dream of equipping every member and believer who enters our doors for ministry by discovering their spiritual gifts and giving them opportunities to use them in ministry to others.
It is a dream of reproducing ourselves and starting 4 new churches in West Plano, Farmers Branch, The Colony and Coppell.
It is a dream of sending out 25 lay pastors into our community to meet the needs of the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, and the confused by reaching out and forming small groups where these needs can be met.
It is a dream to build a school for the training of the generation of today and tomorrow, Godly principles so that their lives will be improved and they will impact the world.
It is a dream to start sports ministries to teach teamwork, sportsmanship and godly devotion to their wellness of body as well as soul.
It is a dream that our church will impact the total person and be a place of striving for excellence and improving the quality of life of those that attend and those surrounding the church in the community.
I write this today and state with confidence that these dreams will become reality.
Why? Because they are inspired by God !
He’s here, He can, He’s big !
Respectfully Submitted: Pastor Mike L. Johnson
