Celebrate the Harvest
This year, in wanting to make a new and different impact in our community, the Church Board has decided to change the focus of Harvest from a Halloween alternative activity to a reaching the needs of those affected by the tough economic times activity. During the course of the next two months, we will be working to collect 100 boxes of food that will provide a Thanksgiving Meal to families in need. Boxes will contain a turkey, stuffing mix, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, yams, Jello, roll mix, spice cake mix with cream cheese frosting, green beans and corn. In addition, we are hoping to provide a ham with each box as well.
Here’s how you can help…
Each box of food (minus the ham) cost $35 Would you and/or your family sponsor a box of food or maybe more than one box? Please see the Foyer display and sign up if you are willing to sponsor a food box or boxes.
Each Sunday School Class, and areas of Children’s Ministry, will be taking up collections to purchase a ham for each box. Would you be willing to donate toward this cause?
We will be putting the food in decorated paper boxes. Would you be willing to decorate boxes on Wednesday evenings? Do you have access to paper boxes that you could donate?
As Thanksgiving draws close, we will arrange times for delivery. Would you be willing to serve on a Delivery Team?
