“Teach a youth about the way they should go; and when they are old, they will never depart from it” ~Proverbs 22:6
Each week we thoroughly go through the Bible to learn and apply God’s truths to our lives. Questions of all sorts are highly encouraged so as to give an answer to those who are asking.
With the growing disenchantment of Christianity with the younger generations today, the churches are seeing their youth walk away from their faith shortly after leaving home. Many do not even return to their faith by the time they are in their 20’s or even 30’s. Several never come back because they feel the church does not have answers to their questions or their professors’ questions in college
Our morning discipleship class is a response to just that problem facing our youth today. Here we take your questions seriously and aim to give you not only the answers but also the ability to equip the youth with answers and the ability to answer their peers.
If you have ever thought to be a Christian requires blind faith and a lack of knowledge think again! This is what our youth are saying about this class.
“The lessons are well put together and thought provoking.”
“I’ve been put off by people in church before being “fake” in the past, but you can tell there’s a genuine desire to answer you and really care for you.”
If you have ever wonder what the Bible says about ________. This is the place to get your answers! Come join our youth as we set out to answer the tough questions and live out our faith and redeem this world for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
The philosophy of the youth ministry at Carrollton Church of the Nazarene will be a place in deep study of the Word of God. It will be our expressed desire to not only instruct our youth thoroughly in the Scriptures, but also to teach them how to serve others as part of developing a well rounded Christ centered world view to change the world!
Our chief end question that our ministry goals will be centered on is this question:
Once you become a Christian, then what?
Therefore our goals for our youth will be to have these essential skills upon graduation of our program here at the Carrollton Church of the Nazarene.
- Students should have a Christ-centered worldview
- Students should be able to articulate the gospel
- Students should be well equipped for evangelism
- Students should be knowledgeable in doctrines
- Students should be practicing community
- Students should get involved into a ministry & be active members in a local congregation
- Students should be pursuing God and displaying the fruits of the Spirit
The youth ministry at the Carrollton Church of the Nazarene will be modeled so that it reflects the love of Christ, but also an atmosphere of fun times with friends. We want our youth to have a place to call their own. This place will be where our youth can express themselves freely and safely but also a place that teaches them to grow in their faith through serving and learning together.
